Importance of Aesthetic Treatments and Timing

In the world of beauty and wellness, aesthetic treatments have become increasingly popular, offering individuals the opportunity to enhance their appearance and boost their confidence. Whether it’s injectables, laser treatments, or skincare routines, understanding the importance of these treatments and the timing involved in spacing them apart is essential for achieving optimal results. In today’ blog post, we’ll dive into the significance of aesthetic treatments, highlight popular transformative procedures, and discuss why timing matters when planning your beauty regimen.

Why Aesthetic Treatments are so Popular

plan out treatments
  1. Boosting Confidence and Self-Esteem
Wrinkles, sun spots, acne, and other unwanted skin conditions significantly impact one’s self-image. When we can alleviate some of these conditions with an aesthetic treatment, my patients begin to feel good about their appearance, and confidence improves. This newfound confidence translates across most aspects of life, from personal relationships to professional endeavors. Aesthetic treatments are not just about looking good; they are about feeling good.
  2. Ever-Evolving Industry
The industry of aesthetic medicine is an ever-changing and developing practice of medicine.  Each year we discover new ways to approach patient’s problems more safely and effectively. The industry itself is also highly competitive, which fosters a need to always be at the forefront of the best and newest technologies and treatments.
  3. Enhancing Natural Features
Many aesthetic treatments are designed to enhance rather than alter one’s natural features. For example, dermal fillers can restore volume to areas of the face that may have lost fullness over time. These subtle enhancements can lead to a more youthful and refreshed appearance without compromising one’s individuality. In my practice, this is something I stand behind! I want to enhance your natural beauty with subtle, yet impactful results.

Now that we know why aesthetic treatments matter, let’s talk about some of our favorite treatments in-office, and why the timing of the treatments matters so you will see the best results possible.

Vivace Ultra Skin Tightening and Rejuvenating Treatments

Radiofrequency microneedling

Vivace Ultra is a state-of-the-art radiofrequency microneedling treatment that helps tighten skin, reduce wrinkles, and improve overall skin texture. This device combines the heat energy of a laser with precision microneedling for the most effective treatment. The timing of Vivace Ultra treatments is critical for optimal results. Just like anything in life, one session isn’t going to cut it to see noticeable transformation. The ideal interval between treatment sessions is 4-6 weeks. This allows the skin adequate time to heal from the controlled injury and begin the collagen stimulating process, which is essential for the treatment’s effectiveness. I suggest a minimum of three sessions per patient, some requiring four to six depending on their skin condition and goals.  Multiple sessions allows for cumulative maximum effects that will enhance the skin’s elasticity and appearance. Also another advantage to this treatment is that the downtime is minimal, making it a convenient option for those with busy lifestyles.

Injectable Treatments with Botox and Filler

Botox and Dermal filler

Botox and dermal fillers such as Juvederm and Restylane are two of the most popular aesthetic treatments used to reduce the appearance of fine lines and restore volume to the face. Timing is essential when it comes to these injectables.

Botox, Dysport, Jeuveau and Xeomin are all wrinkle relaxers. These magical molecules work by relaxing the muscles that contribute to deep lines in our skin. With each of these treatments, results typically become noticeable within a few days, but full effects generally take two to three weeks to develop. This is important when planning to relax those wrinkles before a big event or celebration or photo session. You want to make sure you have adequate time to see a noticeable result. Follow-up treatments every three to four months allows for consistent maintenance without overwhelming the facial muscles. Dermal fillers like Juvederm and Restylane are hylauronic acid based fillers that help restore or enhance facial features. Whether someone is looking to augment their lip shape or reduce smile lines, it is important to time these treatments in such a way that both aligns with the patient’s goals as well as respects any upcoming events. These treatments are a little more invasive to the tissue so every poke comes with the risk of bruising and swelling.  This creates a bit of downtime where you may need to spot-cover a bruise with some concealer, so you wouldn’t want to be taking your family photos or attending a wedding within a few days of this treatment. You should expect to see the final results within 4-6 weeks of your filler treatment, once the product fully incorporates into your own tissue. Additionally, sometimes it takes multiple sessions of filler treatments to accomplish a patient’s goal. I recommended coming in for a consultation where we will do a careful evaluation to figure out an appropriate treatment plan. My approach is always conservative and I like to see how a treatment settles in before we add additional filler that may not be necessary. Fillers can last anywhere from six months to two years, depending on the type used and how quickly a patient’s body metabolizes the product.

Stimulating Collagen and Renewing the Skin with BioRePeel

no-peel-peel

Our BioRePeel, otherwise known as the “No Peel-Peel”  is another effective aesthetic treatment designed to exfoliate the skin, improve texture, stimulate collagen and reduce pigmentation issues. The timing for chemical peels can vary depending on the ingredients and depth of the peel, but in the case of our BioRePeel, we recommend completing a series of 3-4 treatments spaced 7-10 days apart for the best, most dramatic results. This is a very potent peel with minimal shedding but maximum efficacy – which is why it is a favorite of ours!

Combining the BioRepeel with other treatments, like Botox or fillers, can enhance overall results and give you the ultimate rejuvenation, but spacing is crucial to prevent irritation and ensure that the skin remains healthy. You can do injections the same day as a peel, but keep in mind that the more we do at once, the greater the downtime.  Again, figuring out the timing and planning is what we are here for! Don’t feel like you need to figure it out on your own. Leave that to us!

Diamond Glow Treatment

skinmedica diamond

Shine bright like a diamond! This multi-tasking, leveled-up, best in class device is our latest addition to the DermaPrecision family, and we are so excited to offer its fabulous results to our patients! The SkinMedica Diamond Glow treatment is a non-invasive, medical-grade facial that enhances skin texture, tone, and hydration. It features a diamond-tipped applicator for gentle exfoliation (microdermabrasion), along with customizable serums infused with vitamins and antioxidants tailored to individual skin concerns like acne and aging. The treatment also uses a vacuum mechanism to cleanse and stimulate the skin, promoting circulation. Just like a hydrafacial, but better!  Results can be seen after just one session, but a series of 3-6 treatments is typically recommended for optimal results, spaced about 2-4 weeks apart. Patients can safely integrate this treatment with other skincare procedures, such as our BioRePeel, Vivace or IPL, depending on a patient’s specific needs. You can quickly resume all of your normal activities following a DiamondGlow treatment, as your skin will surely be the first thing friends and family comment about after your facial!

Final Thoughts

Aesthetic treatments play such a transformative role in enhancing beauty and boosting self-esteem. Understanding the importance of these treatments, along with the timing and spacing involved, is vital for achieving superior results. By allowing adequate time between procedures like Vivace, Botox and fillers, and peels, you will see the very best results, minimize side effects, and maintain a natural appearance. This journey is about confidence and beauty, but taking the time to plan and space treatments appropriately can make all the difference.

Until next time,
